People with all types of disabilities – physical, mental, behavioral, developmental, and sensory – deserve an HONEST CHOICE on where to live. Our communities are strengthened when everyone is given the resources and respect to live fully in the neighborhood of their choosing. Many people with disabilities need resources and community supports so that they can remain self-sufficient and independent.

WHAT: The “I AM YOUR NEIGHBOR” Movement advocates for adequate and available resources and supports so that every person has an honest choice and equal opportunity to live in the homes and communities of their choosing.

WHY: Right now, many people with disabilities and seniors do not have the supports and resources necessary to lead self-sufficient and independent lives. For the strength and economic vitality of our region, we must create and sustain the community capacity for every person to live in the homes and neighborhoods of their choosing.

HOW: Be a persistent and consistent voice to our state elected officials. Here are specific advocacy actions you can participate in:
